Since the websites launch in October 2002 life long friendships have been formed. I have arranged regular meets and those who have attended have formed close friendships. I am so proud that may-b-baby has brought so many people together. I will be eternally grateful to my close friends who have always been there for me, Trace, Nicki, Vee, Jo and Lesley. A huge thank you to all moderators and members!
What happens at a may-b-baby meet?
If you have already gone through any kind of infertility treatment such as IVF you will know the amount of stress this has on you and your partner. I arrange these meetings so that couples can meet other couples going through the same feelings and worries. That is not to say that we sit down all night and talk about our problems, so you don't have to worry about wearing your heart on your sleeve, but we do bond well probably because we are all in the same position. To be honest the first ever meet I was very nervous and did not really know what to expect or how everyone would get on, nobody had ever met before, we had communicated online so we already had an idea of our sense of humours. When we first met it was a little scary, but we were soon chatting away like we had all known one another all our lives! The first meeting took place in Manchester and was a great success. Since then I have arranged 2 meets a year and all have been a great evening and great fun...well they must be as couples travel from all over the country to be there. If gives the men a chance to chat too, all of them have got on so well! Since the launch of the site we have so far met in, Manchester, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Birmingham and Leeds twice. Some of us have also got together for social events, there has been a wedding, christenings and Birthday party's. May-b-baby meetings consist of an overnight stay in a hotel at the chosen location, a meal out in a nearby restaurant and drinks. I will update about future meets and share pictures of events on this page.
