Infertility
The levels of people in the country who are infertile are actually relatively low, with the majority of couples trying to conceive eventually managing to have a baby, but there are some that find that even after two years of trying they are still unable to conceive naturally. This is something that many people have concerns with, but in truth, difficulty in conceiving after one year is not uncommon, with many couples taking around two years. Though you should visit your GP if you haven’t conceived after a year, you are unlikely to be diagnosed as infertile unless you have been trying for double this amount of time.
However, if someone is proven to be infertile, there are various ways in which medical professionals can potentially help. There are medicines that can be used to combat infertility as well as surgical options if there is a specific problem that can be remedied in this way. There are also alternatives to conception through intercourse. However the use and effectiveness naturally depends on the cause of the infertility.
Everyone is different, with it varying from woman to woman the amount of time it takes to conceive. This is also dependent upon age and the medical history of the woman in question.
There are a variety of issues that are related to infertility. In women the problems are often related to the womb, fallopian tubes, any drugs or medication or even with ovulation. With the latter the ovaries might not be producing an egg, or they might be doing so irregularly. In the case of the other factors, the womb or fallopian tubes could be damaged in some way and there are certain drugs that could cause infertility as a side effect.
In men, infertility could be the result of abnormal semen, which is the cause in most cases. However, it could also be due to damage to the testicles or a problem with ejaculation. These are all vital components of reproduction in men and so any irregularity in these areas could naturally cause a problem. As with women, there are certain drugs that could have unwanted side effects.
Members of both sexes could also be affected by shared factors, resulting in infertility. For example, weight in both men and women could be a factor, as well as unhealthy habits such as smoking. If either party is under a lot of stress, this could also factor in.
